ROLE : Data Center Operations Technician

Location: AGUADILLA PR USA

Duration: Contract 12 Months

Interview Mode : 2 Rounds (Video Call)

Job Responsibility:

As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our data center infrastructure. You will work closely with the Data Center Manager and other team members to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and support tasks to maintain optimal performance and availability of our data center environment.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including server hardware upgrades, equipment installations, and cable management to ensure the reliability and longevity of data center infrastructure.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance activities on critical systems such as power distribution units (PDUs), cooling systems, and environmental monitoring equipment.
Monitoring and Alert Response:
- Monitor data center infrastructure and environmental conditions using monitoring tools and systems to detect and respond to potential issues, such as equipment failures, temperature fluctuations, and power outages.
- Respond promptly to alerts and alarms, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to appropriate personnel as needed to minimize downtime and maintain service availability.
Equipment Deployment and Decommissioning:
- Assist with the deployment and decommissioning of server hardware, networking equipment, and other data center assets following established procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades with minimal impact on data center operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of data center inventory, configurations, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Generate reports and documentation as required for audits, compliance assessments, and incident response activities.
Security and Access Control:
- Enforce physical security measures and access controls to protect data center assets from unauthorized access, theft, and tampering.
- Monitor security cameras and access logs, and conduct regular security patrols to ensure the integrity and security of data center facilities.
