Electrical Maintenance Technician
- $30 to $35 Hourly
- Full-Time
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position requires both electrical and mechanical knowledge. Individual must be able to locate and diagnose failures, both mechanical and electrical, and do basic troubleshooting from detailed specifications. Must have working knowledge of 24v - 480v controls and circuits and have ability to build and troubleshoot electrical control cabinets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform PM’s and repairs on Food Processing Equipment
- Electrical knowledge (VFD’s, power supplies, relays, contacts, etc.)
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct electrical problems
- Ability to run conduit and build electrical control cabinets
- Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Fluent in use of multimeter
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maintain concentration while performing tasks over period of time
- Knowledge of all elements of electricity
- Minimum 3 years electrical experience working and installing breakers and breaker panels. Ability to run 480 and 220 with experience running conduit
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English effectively in writing/orally
- Able to work assigned shift(s) with frequent overtime. Must be on call for 24/7 emergencies
- 3 years' experience as an industrial electrician.
- Experience troubleshooting high (480) & low (24) voltage electrical circuits.
- Basic understanding of PLC’s and ladder diagrams.
- Mechanical knowledge (shafts, bearings, chains, sprockets, etc.)
- Ability to read electrical prints.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Experience with metal forming presses, welding/fabrication and/or robotics would be a plus
PREFERED, BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Industrial electrician license
- -Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic plant equipment
- In depth knowledge of PLC's, ladder logic, panel view programming and troubleshooting.
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment working on plant process equipment
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalence Certificate
- NFPA 70e training
- LOTO training

- The office environment is typically climate controlled of 68ºF to 72ºF and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment
- The indoor production environment is climate-controlled of 40ºF to 45ºF with regular exposure to prolonged noise
While in the production area, all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection and hard hats.
