Position Overview:

The objective of this position is to provide daily, on-going specialty gas equipment support at an R&D facility for a Fortune 500 Company in Silicon Valley. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by anticipating and meeting the customer's operational needs and commitments. The Site Service Engineer will also be responsible for interfacing and fostering relationships with various departments at the facility including EH&S, engineering, and operations by proactively responding to their on-going equipment needs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain standard and custom SEMI-GAS® gas delivery equipment
  • Train new equipment operators
  • Identify, analyze, and repair equipment failures
  • Order and install new components and parts as needed
  • Research and answer customer questions about product features
  • Determine and recommend stand-alone and integrated SEMI-GAS® products or services
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and software equipment modifications and updates
  • Proactively respond to equipment issues to prevent costly production downtime
  • Interface with various equipment stakeholders
  • Respond to emergency calls as required
  • Maintain system and service records and reports
  • Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends as needed
  • Meet or exceed ultra-high purity and specialty gas industry safety standards
  • Meet or exceed site safety standards and company policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field preferred; Associate degree required
  • Minimum 4 - 6 years' experience in servicing ultra-high purity specialty gas equipment or equivalent related experience
  • Must be familiar with a variety of ultra-high purity and specialty gas industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • A valid driver's license is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, touch, see and hear
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders
