Job Description

A market leader in integrated technology ecosystems for healthcare training is Education Management Solutions (EMS). Our solutions address changing demands in clinical simulation management, competency-based education, integrated multimedia, virtual clinical and therapeutic decision-making, and interprofessional team development. EMS, which is currently commemorating 30 years of innovation, is a driving force behind several customer-oriented solutions that have accelerated patient safety and healthcare training across verticals.

The Installation Technician II is responsible for implementing EMS SIMULATIONiQ A/V and IT project designs at the client site. Applicant must have a strong desire to leverage their technical, critical thinking, and communication skills. Teamwork is essential; must work closely with Project Managers, Client Support, Engineering, and Training to ensure the EMS installed systems maintain the highest quality and maximize customer satisfaction.

This is a mid-level position. This role is an extension of the Installation Technician I role. Those in this position will have the ability to work more independently while on a job site with supervision from the more experienced Installation Technicians. Those in this role also have great technical skills and knowledge of IT environments.

Essential Functions

  • Represent EMS at client site, acting as the on-site interface with the clients, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and technical service representatives.
  • Cable pulling and AV equipment installation, including rack assembly and computer set up.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to A/V Hardware components and connections, automation control and audio DSP systems, and networking.
  • Assist with System testing and quality control of installed solutions.
  • May oversee installation technicians for specific tasks.
  • AV and IT systems integration, networking, Microsoft servers, IT infrastructures.
  • Low voltage A/V projects in hospitality, surveillance, tele-data, or related fields.
  • Maintain existing in-house A/V and data infrastructure.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possesses a strong knowledge of computer applications such as Windows Operating Systems, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, enterprise web and client applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and system design drawings.
  • Low voltage cable pulling and termination.
  • Travel Requirement – 75%.
  • Ability to travel internationally; valid passport required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • InfoComm CTS certification required within six months of employment.
  • InfoComm CTS-I preferred.
  • IT and networking technology background required.
  • 2-5 years related experience in Audio-Visual systems installation in commercial and/or residential environments.
  • Crestron control systems experience a plus.
  • BIAMP experience a plus.
  • Video projection systems and video-conferencing configuration a plus.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Position requires working in construction environments and occasionally on ladders and/or scaffolding.
  • Some work is performed overhead at or in ceilings.
