Job Description

Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Plumbing/Piping Foreman to join our team. The Plumbing/Piping Foreman will oversee and coordinate all plumbing and piping activities on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plumbing and piping installations, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.


Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership: Lead, supervise, and coordinate plumbing and piping crews on construction sites. Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure that work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications and industry standards.
  2. Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to schedule and sequence plumbing and piping installations. Ensure that materials, equipment, and manpower are available as needed to meet project deadlines.
  3. Installation and Layout: Oversee the installation and layout of plumbing and piping systems, including water supply, drainage, sewage, and HVAC piping. Ensure that systems are installed correctly, according to plans and specifications, and in compliance with building codes and regulations.
  4. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks to verify the quality and integrity of plumbing and piping installations. Identify and address any deficiencies or deviations from project requirements, and take corrective action as needed.
  5. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote awareness and compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  6. Material and Equipment Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure plumbing and piping materials, equipment, and tools. Manage inventory levels, track material deliveries, and ensure that materials are stored, handled, and used properly on site.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and as-built drawings. Prepare and submit reports, timesheets, and other documentation as required by project managers and supervisors.
  8. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues, conflicts, and challenges that arise during construction, such as design changes, material shortages, and schedule delays. Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement solutions that minimize disruptions and maintain project progress.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and piping installations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Journeyman plumber or pipefitter license/certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
