 Required Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Social Studies certification and at least one other core subject.
• Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
• Alternative applicable qualifications may be considered.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Successful experience working with middle school-age students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
• Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
• Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to accept and perform additional supervision responsibilities as assigned.
• Preferred desire to be involved in extra-curricular activities outside of the school day.

A successful candidate will be able to:

• Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
• Ability to support other core content areas with cross-curricular collaborations.
• Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
• Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
• Contribute to a professional learning team.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.

Salary:  As per negotiated district contract.
