POSITION PURPOSE
The Social Studies Content Support Teacher is a certified educator who supports the Social Studies Department through tutoring, assessment and feedback, mentoring, and instructional collaboration. This position helps ensure students receive high-quality support while contributing to curriculum development, instructional consistency, and continuous improvement within SROS's customized, student-centered, growth and mastery learning model.Â
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate with a Social Studies endorsement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Commitment to customized, student-centered, growth and mastery learning.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience with online, blended, alternative, or competency-based education preferred.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide customized instruction and tutoring for students requiring additional support.
- Maintain a mentoring caseload of approximately 45 students.
- Assess student work and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to implement appropriate interventions.
- Support curriculum development, course revisions, assessments, and instructional resources.
- Collaborate with the Social Studies Department to strengthen instructional quality and consistency.
- Participate in department meetings, professional learning, and school improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
