Cloud Engineer

Overview

The number one goal of everyone in our team is to Create Raving Fans. The Cloud Engineer is an experienced IT engineer working in a service provider capacity for many clients. This position's primary responsibility will be assisting our Senior Cloud engineer in the implementation of cloud initiatives. This includes moving our customers from on-prem systems into serverless environments using SaaS applications and migrating workloads from on-prem systems to Microsoft Azure cloud. Additional components of this job will be providing Microsoft 365 email migration support and implementation of Microsoft Security Suite to secure these infrastructures. UDI works with a large variety of verticals and SMB to Enterprise level customers, so the ideal candidate can support this range of migrations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKSUSE of our TICKETING SYSTEM

• Use our Ticketing System to work on and resolve Tickets & Service Requests.
• Managing and recording all work through our Ticketing System.
• Make sure that Client Documentation is well maintained.

USE of our PSA/Tools

• Use our PSA to manage and monitor all trouble tickets.
• Use our PSA to communicate to customers and UDI Technical Team.
• Use our RMM and Network Monitoring tools to patch, remotely access systems, and review system configurations and alerts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Solve server related problems and incidents on the network.

Solve Azure, M365, Azure AD, Intune, and other cloud security incidents on the network.

Diagnose and resolve common server and virtualization issues.

• Install, troubleshoot, and manage VMware and Hyper-V.
• Install, troubleshoot, and manage Veeam and other cloud backup technologies.
• Install, troubleshoot, and manage Microsoft Azure vm's and resources.
• Install, troubleshoot, and manage Microsoft Azure virtual desktops.
• Communicate with customers, engineers, and non-technical co-workers.

Follow UDI Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Responsible for ensuring standards are maintained by utilizing tools for scans and manual checks in some cases.

• Use hands-on, technical expertise to drive solutions for a range of challenges.

Identify Initiatives and own them to completion.

Identify process improvements in customers environments to help the customer's IT help their business.

Self-Accountability to meet deadline set forth by customers and Management.

Teamwork

• Follow the schedule provided by the Project Manager or other management.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily / weekly recurring tasks.
• Follow all our Security Procedures and keeping a vigilant eye for security issues.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
• Contribute to the process of innovative change effectively.
• Undertake other duties as required by the Project Manager, Director of Operations, or C-level.

Numbers and Metrics

• Accountable for delivering solutions through our PSA tool and scoping tools to meet the expected due date of Sales Engineering tickets.
• Assist in implementing an SLA driven approach to the Sales Engineering Process for future measurement.
• Accountable for the maintenance of project scopes tasks and budgeted hours.
