HVAC Service Technician - Chester, NY

Alpine Air is looking for an EXPERIENCED HVAC Technician with strong mechanical and customer service skills. We’re a growing company that wants to offer our customers the best service in our industry with a focus on friendly and professional service, a clean jobsite and knowledgeable staff.

The candidate will be representing the company at all times. Worksites are drug-free. Candidate must submit to a background and drivers checks and drug testing.

We are looking for someone who has Journeyman experience and has been a service tech for at least 5 years prior. Candidate should have experience with boilers, furnaces, hot water heaters, air handling units, humidifiers and other commercial and residential HVAC equipment.

The primary job responsibilities are to service and maintain customers’ systems, preserving their energy efficiency and diagnosing and repairing systems not functioning. Candidate will interact with homeowners and commercial building occupants so customer service is a top priority. Technician must be able to work Monday through Friday with on-call support.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair systems
• Have knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, hot water heaters, and humidifiers to ensure efficient, safe and uninterrupted operation
• Perform seasonal, predictive maintenance to maximize efficiency and be proactive to identify potential issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and company vehicle
• Protect and maintain company tools and equipment and respect customers’ space
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Upsell customers to new system replacements, parts and repairs and contracts

Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 5 years’ field service experience of HVAC systems in commercial and residential applications
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain a strong knowledge of industry equipment
• Execute all work in accordance with established safety and company procedures
• Ability to work in confined spaces like crawlspaces and attics
• Clean driver’s license
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions
• Ability to use company provided iPad to receive and complete work orders, use timeclock features and GPS
• Maintain truck inventory and equipment functionality of company supplied tools
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Able to work Monday through Friday starting at 7:30am
• Available for on-call support
• May not participate in side-work/jobs
• Must be able to work some holidays and occasional overtime
• Must be able to be available for after-hours emergencies (on rotation)
• Must be well groomed and have a neat appearance
• Have a strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to maneuver heavy objects with assistance
• You must be able to climb ladders and work in small spaces
