Forklift Operator - East Houston, Texas

POSITION: Shipping Forklift Operator

DIVISION: Allura USA

LOCATION: East Houston Warehouse

GENERAL FUNCTION

§ Staging ColorMax products for next day loading
§ Maintain warehouse to obtain FIFO (First In First Out)
§ Moving products from outside storage area to the truck loading area
§ Inventory control system: Locate-It
§ Daily duties include loading of trucks with finished goods
§ Unloading of rail cars and trucks with raw materials as needed
§ Involved in daily and month end inventory of finished goods/consumables
§ Keeping records of all inbound and outbound freight
§ Moving and positioning of bulk railcars
§ Keeping yard, office and work areas organized and clean

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

§ Ability to work shift hours as needed
§ Ability to work overtime, when required
§ Ability to work Monday through Friday, sometimes weekends
§ Flexibility to adjust schedule in support of Production changes
§ Ability to work under pressure
§ Ability to meet production levels
§ Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
§ Responsible for teamwork communication with production operators and supervisors
§ Must wear appropriate PPE at all times
§ Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
§ Perform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
§ Understand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
§ Know where EHS documents are located
§ Must have initiative and exhibit good judgment
§ Must perform with safe work practices at all times
§ Must consult and problem-solve area with coworkers
§ Familiarity with computers

Mental and physical requirements (must be able to perform the following without limitation):
§ Physical dexterity: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, etc.
§ Ability to climb on ladders to heights of over 10’
§ Walking throughout plant from location to location
§ Standing
§ Sitting
§ Reading for information
§ Equipment troubleshooting
