Our Forklift Operator is responsible for using a forklift, electric pallet jack, and/or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count pallets and materials. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, and storing as required. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
Load/Unload material and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places. Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for the facilities. Perform routine facility upkeep and minor non-technical repairs. Replace damaged or missing signs, labels, floor markings, and safety notices.
Assemble, move, and make minor adjustments to shelving, racks, office furniture, and other facility items, as authorized. Patch minor holes, touch up paint, and perform basic cosmetic repairs. Inspect and maintain basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
Remove trash, debris, broken pallets, and other potential safety hazards. Place warning signs or barriers around unsafe or damaged areas until repairs can be completed. Promptly report structural damage, leaks, electrical concerns, plumbing problems, equipment failures, pest activity, or other conditions requiring a qualified vendor.
Coordinate access for approved outside contractors when directed by management. Additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of forklift and electric pallet jack experience. Must be able to maneuver through warehouse area and lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be comfortable working in a refrigerated climate-controlled environment with average temperatures between 34 and 55 degrees. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screening and/or drug screening. The starting salary for this position is $20.25 per hour plus an additional $5.09 per hour in cash fringe benefits for a maximum hourly rate of up to $25.34 with the possibility of additional weekly performance incentives
