Job description

Tier 3 Lead Forklift Operator

The Tier 3 Lead Forklift Operator's primary function is to provide oversight and training to the Forklift Operators on the floor to load/unload trailers per customer specification. Inspection of inventory on in-bound and out-bound shipments is essential. The Lead Forklift Operator will work closely with the Facility Manager and Supervisors to ensure shipments and receipts are complete in accordance to all safety, company and customer guidelines.

Reports To: Senior Supervisor Direct Reports: Tier 1 Forklift Operators

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with co-workers and coordinate to receive instructions and coordinate activities
  • Operate forklift equipment
  • Ability to stack and store inventory in appropriate areas
  • Ability to pick mixed pallets
  • Utilize our scanner process and RF scanners
  • Audit paperwork โ€“ ensure packing list matches what was received
  • Occasional case pick โ€“ manual labor
  • Maintaining forklift equipment โ€“ proper inspections, etc.
  • Preparing pallets for shipment โ€“ may need to band them, wrap them, etc.
  • Proficient in WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Support Senior Supervisor with workflow planning, task delegation, and monitoring team performance.
  • Adhere to safety standards
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of inventory control processes for all customer materials.
  • Serves as a mentor/trainer and develops other operators to ensure progression.
  • Provides guidance, support and direction to operators
  • Maintains a clean, work environment placing all items in an orderly manner
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • 3 years of Forklift experience
  • Possess above average communication skills
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Be a self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with RF equipment
  • High School Diploma or GED
Physical Demands:

  • Ability to multi task and handle crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
  • Majority of the time spent at work will be in an office setting, sitting at a desk.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Minor lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling.

  • Working in close proximity to others
