Salary: $24.85 - $27.95 per hour DOE plus $1500 recruitment bonus

Teton County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Warrants and Civil Processing Specialist

SUMMARY: Plans, directs, and budgets for all civil process, prisoner transport, and warrant entries.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Prepares and enters warrants daily into National Crime Information Center (NCIC); tracks, audits, validates and removes served, expired, and recalled warrants; uploads photos of wanted persons to County Sheriff’s website; prepares residential and commercial evictions as ordered by the court.
  • Organizes and assists with serving civil and legal court documents, including but not limited to subpoenas, summons, property executions, garnishments, and orders of protection, as issued.
  • Maintains civil ledger and bookkeeping system involving all cash transactions and back reconciliations; prepares all deposits and disbursement of payments; prepares the annual budget for the Warrants and Civil Process Department.
  • Prepares and tracks all probation and release orders and terms and conditions of inmates.
  • Creates and maintains the procedure manual for the Warrants and Civil Process Office.
  • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of applicable experience and familiarity with word processing, data entry, and internet operations


Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • National Incident Management Certification IS100 and IS700, or ability to obtain certification within one year of appointment.
  • Notary Public License, or the ability to obtain within 2 months of appointment.
  • NCIC and Security Awareness Certifications issued by the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy (WLEA).


Required Knowledge of:

  • Principles and procedures of recordkeeping, reporting and retention.
  • Law enforcement and court principles, procedures, and methods.
  • Principles and practices of accounting and finance; auditing standards.
  • Current technological capabilities and applications.


Required Skills in:

  • Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely
  • Utilizing problem solving strategies and organizing information and activities involving multiple sources.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
