Environmental Specialist/Asbestos Inspector

Performs inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint (commercial), and/or mold (including air sampling) in compliance with federal and state requirements. Obtains samples of suspect asbestos containing materials, lead-based paint, or mold affected materials from sites and submits them to laboratory for analysis.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Communicate technical information and original work to customers and other interested parties.
- Propose, schedule, and perform inspections on sites that may be abandoned/derelict, under construction, or occupied.
- Answer customer/client questions regarding inspection process or ACM, LBP, and mold.
- Coordinate movement from inspection to abatement/remediation process proposal.
- Be a positive company representative in all internal and external communications.
Physical activities: Enters and locates information on a smartphone, tablet, or computer, often in small print. Communicates with customers, employees, and home office staff in person, over the phone, or via email (sometimes after hours). Must be on feet for up to 10 hours per day; regular standing, sitting, kneeling, twisting, and carrying of up to 15 to 50 pounds; must be able to work in adverse site conditions; extreme hot/cold, wet/dry environment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Half-face respirator; full-face respirator; steel toed footwear; hard hat; safety vest; protective eyewear; gloves; Tyvek suit

Travel: 25% to 100%
Minimum Education: BS in Environmental Science or related field; Applicable licenses for assigned territory necessary to handle and inspect hazardous materials such as: asbestos; lead; mold; etc.
Preferred Skill set: Experience in Construction or Environmental Remediation
