Salary: $33 - $55 an hour

We are seeking a motivated Reporting Analyst/Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing insightful and actionable reports through various platforms, including Power BI (coming later this year), our proprietary Data Insight application, and Microsoft Excel, as well as designing electronic forms using Crystal Reports. The role requires a deep understanding of data analysis, visualization techniques, and report design principles. The candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers and stakeholders across the organization. Intermediate experience reading and writing Microsoft SQL views and stored procedures is vital to the role.

Primary Job Responsibilities


  • Develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards via multiple platforms and applications to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Design, customize, and maintain electronic forms using Crystal Reports to meet business requirements. This includes hosting and leading design and business logic scoping discussions with stakeholders.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
  • Optimize report performance and data integrity by implementing best practices and data modeling techniques.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports and electronic forms to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on how to interpret and utilize reports and electronic forms effectively.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence team to implement the upcoming introduction of the PowerBI tool, including establishing best practices for new reporting collateral and a migration plan for moving reports from other platforms into Power BI.
  • Act as subject-matter-expert and evangelist for data related projects, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Product, and Development teams on an ongoing basis as new product versions release, understanding impacts and adjustments needed to standard templates, default forms/reporting offerings, and underlying technical system requirements.
  • May be called upon for other company initiatives and special projects, as needed.

 

Desired Qualifications/Skills

 

  • Strong critical thinking skills with an emphasis on user experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively design and execute advanced visual reporting concepts
  • Experience working with advanced data architectures
  • Intermediate level Microsoft SQL skills including advanced SQL queries and data analysis
  • Data visualization and reporting skills (strong emphasis on Crystal Reports, Excel etc.)
  • Basic knowledge and willingness to become proficient in Power BI

 

Requirements

 

  • 2+ years of professional experience manipulating relational data sets, developing business solutions using data, data visualization, required
  • 1+ year direct experience with SAP Crystal Reports, strongly preferred
  • Intermediate level SQL knowledge, including ability to modify and create basic SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures, required
  • Software development or related experience, a plus

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to sit at a desk, computer terminal or meeting table for a long period of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers or adoptive equipment to safely operate assigned equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to effectively communicate with end users and coworker
  • Ability to use telephone frequently for a long period of time, and to hear and speak clearly by telephone
  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, partners, or other stakeholders.

Location and Compensation


This is a hybrid-remote role; candidates based in San Diego county are expected to work a minimum of one day per week in the office, those residing outside of San Diego county will be considered fully remote. The salary range for this role is $33 - $55 an hour, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
