Behavioral Health Assistant

The Emerge Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community by empowering children with autism and individuals with communication challenges to achieve independence through innovative and family-centered therapies.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Behavioral Health Assistant will work closely with our licensed clinicians and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support in a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management:

• Assist licensed clinicians in conducting initial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Use clear and direct communication when working with clients and caregivers.
• Prepare materials before the start of assessments.
• Sanitize, put away, and maintain materials following assessments.
• Collect data and score assessments accurately including clear description.
• Maintains clear documentation of client contact.
• Initiates and maintains good rapport with caregivers and clients.
• Identify client needs and recognize when crisis intervention is required.

Behavioral Health Team Support:

• Accurately score and input psychological measures as assigned by team members.
• Attention to detail with data entry.
• Communicate with parents via phone or email as needed to complete measures in a
timely manner.
• Send out weekly outcome follow up surveys to discharged patient caregivers.
• Input outcome survey data into an established database.
• Analyze and prepare monthly statistics for the department.
• Assist with quarterly grant reporting.
• Close out Behavioral Health case files.
• Monitor supplies of test protocols, test items, and other regularly used items by the
department.
• Other tasks as assigned by the team.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Educational Requirements
  •Bachelors degree in Psychology or a related area.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children, preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children with autism or a related disorder,
  preferred.
  • Training and experience with the Autism Diagnostics Observation Scale-2,
  preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Compassion and dedication to serving the community.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
