Landscapes Golf Management, LLC and Hillendale Country Club are seeing a Director of Tennis to head up our racquet sports.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for teaching, planning, implementing and promoting tennis programs for all age groups, while providing outstanding customer service to the Members and Guests of the Club. Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is safe for all those who use the facility.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Hire, train, schedule and supervise tennis professionals and attendants. Directs daily tennis operations and ensures accurate records. Maintains the accounting for tennis operations.

2. Develops, plans, directs and promotes tennis clinics, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests.

3. Monitors business volume and plans accordingly for staffing, productivity, costs and other expenses.

4. Prepares monthly calendar of events and annual budget.

5. Develops lesson programs and gives group or individual tennis lessons for all ages and abilities.

6. Adjusts coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of the athletes.

7. Supervises use of equipment to ensure safe and proper use. Always explains proper use of equipment and enforces safety rules and regulations.

8. Inspects courts and facilities daily and ensures maintenance is performed when necessary.

9. Always ensures players receive exemplary customer service and understands the importance of building individual guest contacts.

10. Keeps abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies and philosophies relevant to tennis.

11. Selects, acquires, stores and issues equipment and other materials as necessary.

12. Occasionally repairs and restrings tennis equipment.

13. Gathers, processes and submits payroll information for the tennis department timely and accurately; maintains and manages all employee files and records.

14. Continually provides input to the General Manager on matters that need immediate attention.

15. Performs light to moderate maintenance of tennis courts, such as, operating an electric cart on clay courts, squeegee and sweep asphalt courts, check nets and tie down windscreens, etc.

16. Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.

17. Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


1. Knowledge of organization and management of tennis operations and shop.

2. Understanding of the rules and game play of tennis and how to teach others game play.

3. Excellent customer service skills.

4. Effective time management and organizational skills.

5. Proficient with common MS Office computer programs and experience with POS systems.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIANCE

1. High School Diploma/ G.E.D required, Associates Degree preferred

2. Certified by USPTA or USPTR 3.

3 years experience as either a Director of Tennis or the first assistant to the Director of Tennis.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 50-100%

Standing and walking 50-100%

Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 50-100%

Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, writing and driving 50-100%

Lift in excess of 50 pounds 0-24%
