**Position Overview:**
In search of a Building Inspector with a strong focus on determining structural integrity of commercial buildings through comprehensive property inspections. This role will be instrumental in safeguarding the long-term viability of the commercial properties by conducting inspections and identifying deferred maintenance needs and ensuring compliance with the Florida milestone inspection requirements.
**Responsibilities:**
- Conduct detailed property inspections, with a specific focus on assessing structural integrity and identifying potential electrical maintenance issues.
- Prepare Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS) to evaluate the condition of structural components and anticipate future maintenance requirements and costs and develop proactive maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with Florida milestone regulations and other relevant building codes and standards.
- Implement inspection protocols and standards to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with property owners, tenants, and internal teams to schedule and conduct inspections in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document inspection findings, maintenance recommendations, and compliance status accurately and comprehensively.
- Monitor and track progress on maintenance initiatives, ensuring that corrective actions are completed effectively and within budget.
- Communicate inspection results and maintenance plans to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable recommendations for preserving property value and structural integrity.
- Implement industry standards, regulatory changes, and best practices related to property inspection and structural maintenance.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting property inspections, with a focus on structural/electrical is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate structural or electrical issues and develop effective maintenance strategies.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in inspection documentation and reporting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
