Sandblaster

Job Description: The Sandblaster will help prep materials for powder process, move materials, loading and shoveling material into hoppers and helping around the shop with other various jobs.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Must have a clear background and successfully complete a drug screen and pre-employment physical.

• The blaster/painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials and procedures necessary for the safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings.
• The blaster must be able to hold and a control 100 psi nozzle pressure.
• They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage.
• Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
• Some knowledge of rigging.
• Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft.
• Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft.

Essential Physical and Mental Functions:
Lifting: up to 50 pounds
Lift and carry: up to 50 pounds for 100 feet

• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pound in all directions
• Bending, stooping, walking, and climbing stairs
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Operating machinery and/or power tools
• Ability to wear a respirator/hood
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively

• Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
