Coeur Mining, Inc. is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo silver-gold complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead development project in British Columbia and has interests in several precious metals exploration projects throughout North America.

Coeur Alaska, Inc., a subsidiary of Coeur Mining, one of the world’s leading primary silver companies and a significant gold producer, is seeking a Network Administrator for its Kensington underground gold mine. The Kensington mine and associated milling facilities are located within the Berners Bay Mining District on the east side of Lynn Canal about 45 miles north-northwest of Juneau, Alaska. The schedule for this position is 4 days on-site at the Kensington mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 3 days off.

Current Opening: Network Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing appropriate systems/methods for the computer network through project planning, systems analysis, program development, and implementation, to achieve effective business solutions to meet the Company’s objectives and priorities.
  • Develops general and detailed system design specifications and quality documentation; maintains accurate documentation on all network hardware and software, including technical documentation on configuration and installation procedures and standards.
  • Proposes policies and solutions for network-related issues.
  • Identifies alternate system approaches to ensure all networks operate in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Assists corporate IT personnel in developing project plans and in scheduling, monitoring, and communicating project status.
  • Reviews network for cost effectiveness, compliance to standards, flexibility, and efficiency to meet future needs.
  • Evaluates network back up and security, and maintains security parameters, including virus control.
  • Utilizes ticketing system for end-user support, workflow prioritization, and non-network related issues as directed and tasked.
  • Maintains network performance via network monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution methods.
  • Monitors network for improper or unauthorized access and prepares reports as required.
  • Ability to work within ITIL change management framework, including planning, documenting, collaboration on, performing, and reviewing changes while supplying back-out plans and alternatives.
  • Maintains current understanding of new and upcoming business related technology and continually improves personal and professional SA/Networking knowledge through technical articles, professional forums, and online courses when appropriate.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs., work outside in all kinds of weather, in confined spaces, and at all heights.
  • Ability to safely load and operate vehicles in a variety of conditions including but not limited to; heavy rain, snow, and varying underground conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Education Requirements:

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience with design, analysis, and maintenance of network software and hardware.
  • Desired Certifications: CompTIA NET+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS.
  • Experience working in JUNOS, IOS, and PAN-OS environments.
  • Knowledge of data storage and backup policies, standards and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of servers and networking in cloud, physical and virtual environments.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees, both written and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Estimated Salary:

The annualized total estimated compensation package at target for this position is $125,000 to $140,000 dependent on experience.
