Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Managua, Nicaragua. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with 3 to 5 years of experience. A master's degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred. Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, particularly in the software industry or a related field, is valuable. Experience with financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and software accounting principles is beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Record and update financial records and issue financial statements and reports.
• Manage payments and collections, ensuring compliance with local tax and regulations.
• Record financial operations in QuickBooks (ERP).
• Prepare monthly financial reconciliations.
• Manage vendors and customers.
• Coordinate equipment and office maintenance.
• Conduct periodic inventory of fixed assets.
• Support payroll preparation for employees and contractors.
• Coordinate with customs broker for monthly declaration of local purchases.
• Meet requirements from local governmental entities (taxes, social security, etc.).
• Process payments to local vendors.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
• Previous experience in accounting or finance, especially in software industry or related field.
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and software accounting principles.
• Basic knowledge of International Accounting Standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Intermediate English skills.
• Familiarity with local taxes and regulations.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Advanced English skills (preferred).

Preferences (Company / Industry): Experience in technology, telecommunications, or audit firms.
