Job Summary:

An Area Sales Manager is responsible for supervising the design team operating within the boundaries of the designated area, monitoring the sales performance and process management. Identify all opportunities to increase capture rate and market share. Area Sales Manager works in conjunction with the Area Manager assigned to the region.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Clearly define Designer role expectations.

  • Review designer performance on the execution of the CE sales process from lead – close of project.

Note: At any given time, a Designer could be working with multiple ASMs, if operating in multiple regions.

Duties / Responsibilities to the Role

  • Motivating and coaching Designers to achieve sales targets and setting daily expectations to the Designer role.

  • ASM duties include and are not limited to daily management of the design and sales process, holding accountability to each designer that has been assigned a project within the boundaries of each region.

  • Partner with the Director of Marketing to conduct market research to identify new customers or market opportunities.

  • Monitoring and analyzing sales and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Managing the performance of Designers through regular mid-year and annual business reviews.

  • Partner with the Director of Sales on relative training topics identified as gaps in the design process.

  • Building and sustaining solid relationships with both existing and potential customers

  • Partner with Area Managers on all active projects in the region, maintain high-level of communication.

  • Providing regular feedback to the CE executive management on regional sales dashboard and product development needs as well as pricing recommendations.

  • Monday - Friday sales tailgate and daily check-in with all Designers operating in a region.

  • CRM management and review with each Designer as needed throughout the week.

  • Marketing review with DoM on current marketing initiatives and seasonal goals

  • Sales review with DoS on current sales initiatives / targets per region, per builder.

  • Daily call with DoS to review CRM and individual’s pipeline.

  • Joint meetings / calls with Designers with a focus pipeline and potential lost leads (ride-along)

    • KPI Dashboard content pushed to VP of Sales and DoS

      • Active pipeline (CRM)

      • Regional Targets (Builder, Renovation, Land Development)

      • Leads Generated per sales office or SGL.

      • Closing percentage per Designer

      • Percentage accuracy to collections report 2-and 12-week

      • Milestone walks completed.

      • C/O Processed, timeline to routing.

      • A/R aging report

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing and or business administration

  • 5-7 years sales team management

  • In-depth knowledge of sales techniques and best practices

  • Capacity to manage multiple processes while holding accountability to the sales team (Designer)

  • Ability to manage $80 mil in opportunities.

  • CRM management
