Systems Drafter II

Under moderate supervision, prepares quality 2D and 3D drawings, models and sketches utilizing CAD workstations, technical manuals and appropriate design criteria. Coordinates with engineers to ensure accuracy and quality of designs. Executes directives from engineers consistent with Mirion quality requirements for updating systems engineering designs, processes, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Prepares quality electro-mechanical drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
• Leads execution of Engineering Change Orders.
• Maintains System’s electronic drawing packages and solid models.
• Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Coordinates with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Will utilize 2D and 3D CAD methods depending on assignment.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• Supports development and execution of work instructions to support engineering process and development work.
• Supports the development and costing of Special Engineering Requests.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design techniques.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad.
• Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly and work well as part of a team.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies.
• Basic knowledge of fundamental electronics and electrical systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• 2-4 years' experience as a Drafter.

Education

• High school diploma with completed post-high school coursework in Engineering, Drafting and/or CAD.
