Samson & Surrey Market Manager - North Texas

This role is fully remote and supports accounts in Dallas and surrounding areas. Ideal base location for this position is Dallas Metro.

What the Role Is

The Samson & Surrey Dedicated Market Manager will be responsible for driving S&S portfolio value growth by working closely with our distributor partners in the assigned market.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Maintains an evolving census of key influential on-premise accounts and key off-premise accounts in market
• Supports and guides execution of brand building activities and brand programs
• Proactively, seeks opportunities for distribution expansion, promotional and visibility building as well as trade and consumer education (the latter in liaison with the BOSS team as appropriate)
• Understands market competitive dynamics to provide feedback to the plans, adapt programs and input into business forecast
• Manages A&P/T&E Budget for assigned territory
• Manages distributor execution within the territory:
  1. Sets the example and motivates local distributor network to execute commercial brand and channel priorities
  2. Aligns with distributor partner on target account list and segmentation
  3. Participates in conducting formal business reviews with the distributor
  4. May supervise LMF investment
  5. Trains, motivates, and develops distributor sales teams
• Responsible for managing total S&S portfolio depletions driven NSV in assigned market
• Responsible for supporting and achieving distribution targets
• Interfaces with/provides direction to Bar Operations Specialist teams regarding on-premise activity
• Works with distributor dedicated and full book teams to drive value growth of brands
• Reports into Regional Manager, or District Manager where applicable

Who You Are…

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field
• Five (5) plus years’ work-related experience in distilled spirits/wine supplier or distributor
• Understanding of brand building in the spirits category, specifically in on-premise
• Understanding of pricing, profit, and brand economics at account level
• Strong oral and written communication skills – comfortable presenting in public, conducting trainings and GSMs
• Strong relationship building skills and collaborative spirit
• Initiative taking, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment
• Analytical skills, in particular gathering data from a wide variety of sources and presenting it in formats suitable for a wide variety of audiences
• Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
• Proficient using Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Flexibility to work in the field regularly (+80%), including evenings and occasionally weekends

While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
