Position: Water Reclamation Utility Line Operator

Starting Pay: $20-21.00 (depending on qualifications)

Additional pay for water licenses. Mustang SUD pays for certification courses and testing if you do not have a Waste Water license.
- Mustang Special Utility District pays for all the courses and testing necessary for the employee to complete the certification.
- In addition to paying for the employee to attain the license, they will receive a $160 pay increase per pay period for a Class 1 Waste water Collections License.
- In addition to paying for the employee to attain the license, they will receive an additional $160 pay increase per pay period for a Class II Waste Water Collections License.
Regular Work Hours and Location: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Work hours may vary from time to time.
Position Function: Under the general direction of the Crew Leader, the Utility Maintenance Operator, performs duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check for leaks and/or damages to infrastructure.
- Repair and maintain Water Reclamation Collections Infrastructure.
- Install / replace/repair manholes
- Construction/Concrete work
- Read and record data from various equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment.
- Haul heavy equipment to and from job sites.
- Lift up to 100 pounds. Sit, stand, twist, bend, stoop, or kneel for extended periods of time while completing tasks.
- Work Inside and Outside in inclement weather, including but not limited to Heat, Cold, Rain, or Snow.
- Climb and descend ladders.
- Clean work areas, trucks, and facilities.
- Inventory truck and stock with parts/tools as needed.
Other Important Duties:
- May be subject to work outside normal business hours.
- May occasionally be required to be on-call, work weekends, and evenings/nights.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to grow and learn with Mustang.
Education Experience and Requirements: High School GED or Diploma. Valid Texas Driving Record with acceptable driving record. Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of employment. Must obtain Class I Waste Water Collections license issued by the TCEQ within 6 months of hire date.
- General knowledge of basic construction hand tools.
- Follow written and oral communication.
- Communicate via phone, text, email, or radio.
- Be able to read, write, and do some math.
Employer-Provided Training: Mustang will pay/ provide all classes needed to obtain the necessary licenses and all testing fees.
TCEQ Waste Water Collections I License Requirements:
- Waste Water Collections Course- 20 Hours
- Application approval from the TCEQ (Background check, class verification)
