Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory flows in our organization. His/her job description involves coordinating the outflow and inflow of inventory, as well as incoming/outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, loading, and storage activities. You will provide optimal support for all departments with regards to inventory controls and valuation.Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan every activity that relates to inventory control in the organization or warehouse environment.
- Ensure all items in the warehouse are appropriately received and stored properly.
- Receive and issue warehouse stock products to work orders.
- Ensure materials are checked against vendors’ invoice/packing list, bills of lading, customer supplied orders and follows proper receiving processes and procedures.
- Complete daily cycle counts.
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as received; tracks orders and investigates problems.
- Report daily stock transactions, outflow, shortages, inaccuracies, and write-offs.
- Compile inventory information.
- Inventory Key Performance Indicators: location accuracy and absolute variance.
- Partner with Finance Department weekly ensuring inventory is properly valued.
- Other duties as specified by the Plant Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Familiarization with MRP Systems
- Ability to multi-task, plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.
- Must have the ability to analyze problems, eliminate unreasonable causes, and develop solutions.
- Physical:
- Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
- Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
- Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 pounds.
- Mental
- Mathematical: advanced Math, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Language: English, both oral and written.
- Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.
- Self-Starter
- Minimum 2 years inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating lifting equipment (including Order Picker/Cherry Picker/forklift)
- Hours of operation: 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Overtime as required.
