General Summary of Position
Under the direction of the Sr. Supply Chain Manager the senior inventory control coordinator establishes monitors and controls warehouse inventory levels. Interfaces with Information Systems and provides PC and ERP systems support for the department. Trains department personnel to achieve inventory targets and department goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establishes monitors and controls all inventory levels and associated metrics which indirectly affect budgetary constraints.
  • Trains all inventory control personnel establishing daily and annual goals and expectation of duties.
  • Verifies stock outs performs cycle counts to verify inventory quantities and resolves discrepancies.
  • Maintains and performs item and par level changes as needed in all materials management systems and physical storage locations.
  • Investigates inquiries concerning departmental supply charges.
  • Uses the ERP system and other materials management systems to generate reports that aid in the investigation of inventory problems and input warehouse/purchasing changes. Creates and monitors requests for item master adds changes and deletes (ACD's).
  • Recommends policy and process changes that will enhance inventory control accuracy and other associated corporate and departmental goals.
  • Establishes and maintains alternate sources of supply to ensure high levels of product availability and patient care by developing contacts and relationships with vendors manufactures other Medstar System entities and non-Medstar area hospitals.
  • Maintains current knowledge of technical and business developments and communicates relevant information to the work group.
  • Minimal Qualifications
    Education
    • Associate's degree or one to three years formal training in Business Accounting or related discipline required
    Experience
    • 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job related experience including computerized inventory systems required
    Licenses and Certifications
    • CMRP - Certified Materials & Resource Professional preferred or
    • Manufacturing\APCIS-Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred or
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred or
    • Equivalent preferred
    Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    • An intermediate level of proficiency in Excel and other MS Office Suite applications.

    USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,836.00 /Yr.
