Job description

Position Summary
The individual in this position is responsible for stocking aluminum extrusion material in the warehouse and factory to support production requirements. They are also responsible for receiving material from vendors, transferring material between facilities, and making the appropriate transactions in the ERP System.
Essential Functions
  • Unload and Receive material using a swingmast forklift.
  • Transfer material between Storage Locations and complete ERP transactions.
  • Complete Cycle Counts as necessary to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Work with suppliers on rush orders or short shipments.
  • Take care of the corrugated bailer and maintain the process of full bails.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain and others on shortages.
  • Must handle all change out of scrap totes and pick up of scrap roll off.
  • Handle the processing of saw blades that need to go out for sharpening.
  • Help with the pulling, inspection, and packaging of paint and anodizing jobs.
  • Flexible to work overtime if needed to meet demand.
  • Make good business decisions for the company.
  • Work at a good pace to make sure all areas have what they need.
  • Be a self-starter and personable with all associates every day.
  • Make sure areas are organized and clean every day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Must be able to read prints and understand measuring equipment such as tape measures, scales, and decimals/fractions.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and have a team-player attitude.
  • Must be highly organized and able to follow direction from the Senior Buyer.
  • Must be willing and able to work in accordance with the Senior Buyer, Supply Chain, and the Manufacturing Line Supervisors to achieve smooth and efficient production.
Education, Training, Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One or more years of forklift, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Forklift certification to use the swingmast forklift preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Periods of sitting and working at a computer are required, with regular exposure to the factory. Sedentary work is performed in an office area with exposure to extreme weather or hazardous conditions. Typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop, and phone are used. May be noisy due to proximity to factory. This position requires regular exposure to the factory, which includes extreme weather conditions; noisy, dusty, and dirty environments; and motorized equipment that pose potential safety hazards. Reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, as well as lifting up to 50 lbs. is required. Proper safety procedures, lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment guidelines are always to be followed.
