Director of Safety Construction

A top ten developer is looking for a Director of Safety with experience in Multi-Family, Apartments, Hotels, or Assisted Living construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for management of the risk portfolio and insurance coverages for its various entities, from loan closing through construction to stabilization and operation. If you're ready to take the next step, we want to hear from you!

*This person can live anywhere in CA, and will be traveling to projects all throughout the state*

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the risk portfolio and insurance coverages for various entities, from loan closing through construction to stabilization and operation.
• Handle lines of coverage related, but not limited to, payment and performance bonds, builders' risk, general liability, workers compensation, Inland Marine, property and casualty, etc. 
• Distribute insurance certificates and maintain real estate schedule of assets.
• Participate in claims processing, including documentation, assessment, and resolution.
• Prepare and submit reports on insurance activities and claim status.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with insurance policies and procedures.
• Organize and maintain electronic documents related to insurance and risk management.
• Assist with limited invoicing tasks related to insurance premiums and claims.
• Provide education and guidance to subcontractors regarding insurance requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize insurance coverage and risk management strategies.

Qualifications:

• Multifamily and/or real estate development experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with contractor-controlled insurance or 'wrap' program and captive insurance.
• High proficiency in Excel, Word, and other general office software (such as Outlook).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills needed.
