Job Description

Petro-Chem Development is part of the AXENS Group, a major licensor of technologies and a leading supplier of products and equipment for the Refining, Petrochemicals, Renewable Fuels and Sustainable Plastics and Green Energy industries. The heaters Process and Proposal department belongs to the Technology & New Business Group which is responsible for the technical support to business across the whole portfolio of technologies, products and equipment of Axens North America and Petro-Chem, from upfront proposals through projects execution and after sales services.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a junior level position in the Process group and primary responsibilities will include:

  • Thermal Design and Process Engineering work for Fired Heaters, Electric Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units and associated auxiliaries in support of technical proposals, projects, studies and revamps
  • Coordinating with Commercial, Engineering and Procurement teams for Proposal activities
  • Prepare and review design of Fired Heaters, Electrical Heaters and Waste Heat Boilers
  • Prepare and review datasheets and other documents for Fired and Electrical Heaters, Waste Heat Boilers and associated components such as burners, fans, Air Preheaters and SCR systems
  • Development of the P&IDs, Review of Line Sizing, Pump Calculations, Hydraulics, Equipment & Instrument Datasheet preparation, Interlock Summary and Cause & Effect Diagram, Utilities & Tie-in Summary preparation, Equipment layout, Operating manual preparation
  • Taking part in 3D Model reviews
  • Preparation of Material Requisitions (RFQs)
  • Evaluation of vendor quotations and prepare technical bid analysis for items like Burners, Fans, SCR system skids
  • Coordinating the technical queries and technical deviations raised by various vendors
  • Participate in Management Estimate Review meetings
  • Once a project is awarded and begins execution, participate in Engineering review meetings for adhering to Project schedule and review of change orders
  • Burner Testing & Burner Start-up
  • Participation in HAZOP and SIL reviews with clients, end users or EPCs
  • Provide Pre-commissioning, Commissioning & Start-up support at clients sites for major package items like Heaters, WHRUs and SCR deNOx system
  • Participation in Performance Guarantee Test runs
  • Contribute to trouble shooting of problems at sites

TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Process/Thermal design of Fired Heaters, WHB and associated systems is preferred.
