JOB TITLE: Mechanical Designer

DEPARTMENT: Product Management

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Designer is a full-time position responsible for creating and/or understanding CAD models, Engineering drawings, and other related administrative or customer documentation. This team member uses engineering methods to design, and document materials and processes to meet customer expectation, supporting the design from concept through delivery. This position works closely alongside the Sales and Manufacturing team to accomplish these objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare solid models and drawings identifying features & tolerances critical to customer success

· Generate and maintain Bills of Material supporting Sourcing and Manufacturing

· Use broad technical skills to ensure manufacturability of products

· Maintain procedures & instructions to convey processes and methods

· Assess human factors in processes to improve safety and reduce nonconformity

· Share knowledge amongst team members

· Protect the proprietary nature of all ECS Composites products, materials, and processes

Qualifications and Skills:

· Education: High school diploma or GED test credential

· Experience with solid modeling programs

· Ability to read and interpret relevant standards

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· Professional written and verbal communication skills as well as sound interpersonal skills

· Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint & Excel

· Other tasks as deemed necessary

Helpful Skills:

· Associates Degree or progress towards AS in relevant area

· Experience in composites manufacturing (thermoset, thermostamp, rotational molding, or resin transfer molding).

· Experience with finite element analysis

· Understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, & standards
