Job Description

Senior Electrical Engineer – St. Louis, MO

A National Architecture & Engineering firm is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in their St. Louis studio.

Responsibilities
  • Establish project design approach for specific discipline at project start up
    • Leads client management.
    • Attends client, consultant, and design committee meetings.
    • Presents design to client and coordinates with other disciplines and consultants.
    • May be involved in project/client pursuits.
  • Manage project specific scope, budget and schedule
    • Participates in all design and construction phases of projects.
    • Responsible for scope, schedule, budget for own scope of work.
    • Owns all projects in entirety related to project delivery.
    • Manages teams and assists other project team members in the development and maintenance of workplans.
    • Participates in project debriefs and lesson’s learned sessions.
  • Oversee development of fully coordinated quality design documents
    • Leads in planning, design and documentation of projects. Prepares working drawings and stamps drawings.
    • Communicates and improves some design processes with other team members.
    • Recommend and implement alterations to design to improve quality.
  • Mentorship
    • Mentor other Designers and Engineers. Provide training and leadership through project work to empower, train and develop designers and engineers.
  • Pursue additional certifications
  • Support systems commissioning activities, including site visits and functional testing - development and execution.
  • Promote company reputation through good client relations.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Professional degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional experience
    • Experience within healthcare, higher education, and/or science & technology market sectors preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure preferred
  • Must be authorized to work for any company in the United States
  • Generates creative solutions; translates concepts and information into images; collaborate with others to modify design; applies design principles.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret information.
  • Able to assume a role of authority, as necessary; sets an example for coworkers; delegates responsibility and empowers associates to make decisions and take personal accountability for decisions.
  • Able to perform work and job function with precision and accuracy; carefully monitors processes; concentrates on details, organizes and maintains a system of records.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws. Work requires advanced math skills, special relationship abilities, and the ability to understand “abstract” principles behind math and physics.
  • Possesses a sense of ownership in all deliverables. Utilizes knowledge and opportunity to continually strive for excellence within an empowering culture. Collaborates and supports fellow employee owners in ongoing improvements. Understands personal accountability within their role in the company.
  • Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps, AutoCAD, Revit
    • Electrical: SKM Power Tools - Electrical System Analysis, Various lighting design software
