This role combines expertise in plasma and welding processes with a strong understanding of automation technology. You will play a crucial role in driving efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in manufacturing operations by developing and fine-tuning programs to meet production requirements.

Position Summary:
As a Plasma Cutter and Welding Automation Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and optimizing machines for plasma cutting and robotic welding operations. This role combines expertise in plasma and welding processes with a strong understanding of automation technology. You will play a crucial role in driving efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in manufacturing operations by developing and fine-tuning programs to meet production requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop programs for plasma cutting machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Optimize cutting parameters such as speed, feed rate, and tool selection to achieve desired results.
- Troubleshoot and debug programs as needed to maintain production flow.
- Set up and prepare plasma cutting machines for production runs.
- Load and unload materials onto the cutting bed, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping.
- Monitor machine operation to ensure adherence to programmed instructions and quality standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks and inspections to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
- Inspect cut parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency, making adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and address any issues or defects in the cutting process to maintain product integrity.
- Record production data and maintain documentation of quality control measures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Perform manual welding tasks using various welding process, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Prepare work pieces by cleaning, cutting, and positioning them for welding.
- May be required by management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a programmer and operator, with specific expertise in plasma cutters or robotic welding.
- Experience in manual welding.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training a plus.
