Job Description
Yates Industries is currently looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk in our Austell, GA plant!

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages shipping and receiving activity for new business and repair business including but not limited to sales orders, shippers, BOL, misc. shippers, and receiving inspection
  • Develops and processes shipping containers
  • Manages/schedules common carriers for freight out
  • Processes jobs for UPS/Fed Ex
  • Pulls all finished goods from inventory shelves and places in job pans.
  • Pre-assembles seals/components as applicable
  • Notifies purchasing of any items that are below safety stock or not in inventory
  • Creates internal jobs for inventory
  • Assist other areas with miscellaneous jobs
  • Maintain inventory of all shipping supplies, lumber, boxes and packing
  • Creates containers for shipping as needed
  • Ensures safety at all times and reports and issues to Production Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet Explorer, Made to Manage system, Microsoft Outlook, UPS system, and FedEx system.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to work with various software’s
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and requests for assistance in related manufacturing environment
