Medical Supply Technician

LOGISTICS SUPPORT: The contractor shall provide services to support the MMD's logistical processes. The services shall include:

a. Providing support to one or several individuals simultaneously. Performing under limited direct supervision. Exercising independent judgment in the performance of duties.

b. Preparing scheduled, special, or one-time reports. Preparing summaries or replies to inquiries. Selecting relevant information from a variety of sources to report on the progress of logistical process developments.

c. Performing data capture/data entry from referenced documents using Microsoft Office Suite of applications, Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), and any relevant logistics reporting systems.

d. Facilitates the managing, regulating, requisitioning, and coordinating of Medical/Surgical Supplies and products to customers throughout the command.

e. Conducts inventory management of centrally managed supplies throughout clinics in the command. Responsibilities include scanning and replenishment of Inventory Management Optimization Program (IMOP) clinical supply areas.

f. Supporting command equipment accountability using Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Microsoft Access, or other tools.

g. Researching and retrieving information requested by the MMD Department Head using multiple techniques/sources.

h. Analyzes inventory historical demand and procurement lead times to determine and forecast needs based on requirements.

i. Processing status report documents for submission to the DFA and Executive Steering Committee (ESC) for review.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

The contractor employee must possess and/or exhibit:

a) A High School Diploma or equivalent.

b) Experience in a healthcare facility.

c) The ability to read, write, and understand the English language.

d) Knowledge of supply chain and logistic practices.

e) Knowledge of the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System (DMLSS).

f) Written and verbal communication skills to clinical departmental leadership and Supply Petty Officers.

g) Knowledge of various sources of supply, such as Prime Vendor, open market, and Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC).

h) Skill in operating barcode scanners and computer terminals

i) Knowledge in correspondence handling procedures.

j) Knowledge of medical terminology.

k) Thorough knowledge of Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act restrictions as they relate to medical records and documents for military service family members.

l) Skill in operating a personal computer in order to properly use Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
