Job Summary:
The Sales Manager will oversee and lead all activities of the Sales Department.
- Sales: ‘farming’ existing clients & ‘hunting’ & qualifying new clients.
- Customer Service
- Marketing
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Develops & maintains relationships with potential & existing clients in the mining sector.
· Identifies & locates new clients through a variety of methods including networking & cold calls.
· Develops & implements strategies for sales in mining regions across North America.
· Applies knowledge of the field to match Skyline to the needs of clients.
· Answers inquiries concerning Skyline’s various assay capabilities & their applicability to client’s needs.
· Provides information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid information to clients.
· Negotiates prices and/or service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.
· Collaborates with other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency.
· Resolves customer complaints, and any other issues that may interfere with sales operations.
· Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
· Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to the president.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
· Thorough understanding of technical or scientific services to be sold.
· Organized with attention to detail.
· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mining Engineering, Geology, Geochemistry, Earth Science, is required. A degree in other science/engineering/inorganic chemistry may be acceptable if accompanied with years of direct mining experience. An advanced degree in the above coupled with field experience is a ‘plus’.
· A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience directly with the mining industry is required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds at times.
· Travel to meet with clients or potential clients locally, across the western US states is required, and other areas of north America (Canada & Mexico) will be required on occasion.
