ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/ACCOUNT SPECIALIST

We are looking for a dynamic and meticulous Specialist to work in Rockford, Illinois for a U.S. based leading global manufacturer. Along with other tasks as delegated, your daily responsibilities as a Accounts Receivable/Accounting Specialist will be handling accounts receivable and invoicing.

Specific Duties

• Apply customer payments and process remote deposits.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and apply credits and deductions as needed.
• Resolve unapplied and delinquent payments timely.
• Maintain electronic files and/or file documents as required.
• Perform credit reference checks and work with Sales to set up new customers.
• Generate sales invoices and send to customers.
• Prepare and distribute international invoice and shipment packets.
• Respond to customer and internal inquiries timely with relevant, accurate information.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Print and send out customer statements.
• Monitor A/R agings and provide periodic reporting on A/R activities/issues.
• Receive non-inventory items into the system.
• Adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
• Serve as a back-up to other roles.
• Perform other duties as assigned, which could include but not be limited to:
• Accounts payable processing
• Answering incoming calls and greeting visitors
• Handling mail

Essential Skills and Experience

• Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic accounting knowledge and understanding important.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing environment.
• Team player; but, able to work with limited supervision.
• Solid problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Quick learner who can effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
