Acoustics Engineer Senior Project Manager

Russell Tobin is currently seeking an enthusiastic team member to join a growing Acoustics Engineering Project Manager (EPM) team. As an EPM, you will drive the research, design, and integration of cutting-edge audio technologies, hardware, and features into world-renowned products, including cell phones, tablets, headphones, and more. In this critical and highly collaborative role, you will oversee internal efforts of Hardware, Algorithms, User Interface (UI), and Validation teams, as well as lead cross-functional coordination with external partners within Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and beyond.

Contract length - 9 months (potential to go longer)
Compensation - $110/hour
Hybrid Schedule - 2/3 days a week on site

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary interface to Acoustics Engineering during technology and new product development.
• Define and drive build and development plans for Hardware and Software, managing and communicating project definition, development landmarks and schedules, and project status.
• Collaborate with highly skilled teams to identify and resolve potential design pitfalls and risks to product acoustics schedules and audio quality.
• Lead a multi-functional team and external suppliers, delivering acoustic modules on schedule, managing risks, and communicating status and issues to executives and project teams.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong interest in technology, innovation, and product development.
• Excellent listening, executive presentation, and interpersonal skills, with strong cross-functional coordination and project management abilities.
• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, with a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, acoustics, and/or software development.
• Bonus experience in spatial audio, speakers, microphones, pro audio, DSP, and/or ML/AI applied for audio.

Education:

• BS degree in ME/Physics/EE required, MS preferred.
