Construction Estimator

We are looking for a talented construction estimator to join our team! Salary will start at $85,000 and is dependent on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with quantity take-off, pricing, and bidding of all construction projects.
• Sets up an estimate to include correct alternates, general conditions, inputting correct vendor and subcontractor pricing, correct labor production and wage rates in alignment with bid strategy.
• Conducts a take off by owning all items from take-off software through identifying and quantifying all necessary concrete scope items.
• Responsible for providing correct project information to the appropriate parties during the turnover and planning phases.
• Validates that accurate and detailed information was provided to the operations team to plan for execution.
• Create and maintain forms and create SOPs.
• Negotiate the changes to the work during the construction/installation phase and compile post-mortem cost summaries of the project.
• Generates initial budget estimates for new projects including estimate refinements.
• Develop estimates for all changes to the work during the construction/installation phases.
• Update project estimates throughout the design phases including but not limited to concept, schematic, design development and construction document phases.
• Request then provide accurate bid pricing to distributors by the stated due date.
• Compile overall project summaries on cost at the conclusion of the project.
• Prepare weekly reports for the Senior Estimator on current project estimates status.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 - 7 years’ on-site construction and estimating experience required. (You will not be considered without direct construction estimating experience).
• High-School diploma or GED.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree- Preferred not required.
• Multi-family Construction Experience
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques
• Proficient in using estimating software and tools (Stack, PlanSwift and Building Connect)
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents
• Great verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills.
• Great computer skills: knowledge and proficiency in common office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software navigation.
• Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Traveling up to 40% of the time.
