Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

FSLA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday – (Extended hours may be required to supervise overtime)

Job Purpose: Responsible for directing activities in the Shipping Department. Accountable for all results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe workplace, report any issues to safety manager.
• Enforce all safety rules.
• Report all accidents.
• Ensure employees pick and ship parts per work instructions.
• Communicate short product releases to the necessary company individuals.
• Coordinate intercompany pickups, drop-offs, and expedited freight as necessary.
• Manage several shipping clerks, material handlers, drivers, and packers.
• Install a culture built on positivity and detail.
• Identify training gaps within the team. Work with the team on creating additional documentation as needed.
• Track on time delivery metrics daily.
• Report and work to resolve all maintenance issues.
• Facilitate shipping personnel issues.
• Conduct employee reviews.
• Enforce company policies.
• Approve work hours 9striaght time & OT), vacation and time off requests.
• Provide feedback to the management team for ideas and improvements.
• Submit all required reports on time.
• Communicate with other team members to optimize processes.
• Manage all shipping activities.
• Supervise shipping employees and lead by example.
• Promote attention to detail and ensure accuracy of inventory.
• Monitor and improve personal productivity and time management.
• Ensure organization and housekeeping standards are met.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

• High School education or higher.
• Prior supervisory experience in a shipping/receiving role preferred.
• Able to read and interpret customer drawings.
• Proficient using measuring tools.
