An organization with treatment centers in several states throughout the United States is seeking a Regional Business Development Manager in Glendale. The organization provides residential and outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents battling mental health and co-occurring disorder. This is an established and reputable organization with a large, successful business development that is offering a competitive compensation plan, bonus opportunities, and benefits within a stable company with realistic expectations for production.

The position will manage a team of up to three while still performing business development activities of their own. The proportion of time spent in management will vary between 25% and 60% depending upon how many direct reports are being managed with the remaining 40% - 75% time performing business development representative activities.


Candidates Will Have:
  • A history of success in business development in the mental health/behavioral health industry as representative
  • An attitude of service with a great work ethic and moral code
  • An ability to lead through example and coaching in both one-on-one and group settings
  • Established relationships with individuals or organizations within the mental health/behavioral health industry
  • Versatility to cold call into new relationships as well as maintain and cultivate existing relationships
  • Familiarity with establishing relationships and be comfortable speaking with hospitals, medical doctors, psychiatrists, interventionists, Employee Assistance Programs, addiction/mental health treatment centers, and therapists in a clinical sales process
  • Experience in identifying market opportunities while developing, planning, implementing and following through with action plans to grow admissions and the overall brand of the treatment center
  • Flexibility in their ability to adapt the territory plan to fit the needs of the geographic market and overall landscape of the behavioral healthcare industry
  • Ability to exercise professionalism in a manner that reflects a positive image for the organization, as well as the individual candidate, by exhibiting ethics, attention to detail, availability, dependability and a heart of service for those in need of recovery from addiction and mental health disorders

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strategic plan for creating new business relationships and strengthening existing relationships leading to increased referrals and admissions into the treatment center
  • Actively prospect, cold call (on the phone and face-to-face) continuously to expand individual's and company's contact list and brand awareness
  • Provide excellent follow-up with prospects and existing relationships
  • Exemplify an attitude of service and availability for referral sources and patients being referred for treatment services
  • Observe and identify market opportunities and challenges
  • Develop, plan, implement and follow through with action plans to positively influence opportunities and challenges in candidate’s geographic area and broader behavioral healthcare landscape
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for admissions and leads into the treatment center
  • Travel to the treatment center for training, tours, periodic meetings and events as needed
  • Represent the treatment center at local, regional and national events (conferences, trade shows, lunches, dinners and other events) as needed

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the mental health/behavioral healthcare industry business development
  • Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
