Coffeeology in Greensboro is seeking passionate baristas for quality beverage, food and dessert service!

At Coffeeology, we love three things: excellent coffee, delicious food, and community engagement. We have proudly served coffee to the UNC-G and the greater Greensboro area for over 10 years, and we're excited to invite you along!

Part-time and Full-time applicants will be considered!

Our expectations of a Coffeeologist:

Baristas are responsible for making quality beverages, working the cash register, cleaning, and stocking the store. Baristas must display competence in multitasking efficiently all while developing customer relationships. Baristas are coffee stewards promoting consumption by educating customers as well as providing a safe and welcoming environment for the surrounding community.

Coffeeologist Job Duties:

• Welcome customers
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
• Sell coffee and explain the differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
• Display competence with equipment maintenance and operation
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
• Prepare and sell drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for the beverages
• Prep and prepare items listed on the menu
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently
• Ensure products are stocked and rotated; management of inventory
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintain personal networks
• Enhance coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Key Attributes:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience preferred
• Positive, friendly attitude
• A team player who presents self-starting initiative
• Experience making coffee and espresso drinks
• Clear and effective communication
• Flexibility in scheduling
• Willingness to pitch in where help is needed
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to problem solve quickly
