Molecular Lab Supervisor

Lighthouse Lab Services is the leading provider of clinical laboratory personnel in the country. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Lab Supervisor to join a cutting edge, personalized healthcare company in the Miami, FL area.

Position Overview:

As the NGS Lab Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of a Next-Generation Sequencing laboratory. You will be responsible for growing a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing quality control measures, and optimizing laboratory workflows to deliver accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise day-to-day operations.

- Manage sample processing, library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis.

- Lead and mentor laboratory technicians.

- Provide guidance and training.

- Implement quality control procedures.

- Ensure accuracy and reliability of NGS data.

- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory requirements.

- Oversee maintenance and calibration of NGS instruments.

- Identify opportunities for optimization.

- Implement best practices for workflow efficiency.

- Collaborate with bioinformatics team.

- Interpret NGS data for clinical interpretation.

- Maintain accurate records.

- Prepare documentation for regulatory audits.

- Coordinate with other departments and clinicians.

- Address inquiries and provide updates on laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.

- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in molecular biology laboratory.

- Strong managerial and team-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MB(ASCP) or equivalent.

- Experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory, preferably in oncology or molecular diagnostics.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to NGS testing.
