The Role

OWL Services is hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handy Man in the Ft. Lauderdale area. We are looking for a self-motivated individual that can work alone or as part of a team to complete various tasks. A maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep of a facility. They are skilled in a variety of areas including basic plumbing, carpentry, and basic electrical systems. Duties include communicating with store managers/employees, evaluating the work to be done, creating a plan, ordering parts, making repairs, cleaning up, maintaining inventory in truck, documenting pictures, and paperwork.  

Average hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Weekends Optional. 1 weekend/month mandatory. Hours may vary based on Special Projects. Mandatory on call rotation 1 week out of every 5 weeks.

Various tasks we perform: Tile and grout, concrete, drywall, pressure washing, painting, installing light fixtures, ceiling tile, investigating water leaks, installing equipment and more.  Our team does a variety of work, you may not know how to do all these tasks but if you already know how to do some of them, we can teach you the rest! 

Responsibilities

• Tile repairs
• Drywall patching
• Stucco patching
• Concrete/asphalt repairs
• Painting
• Minor electrical and plumbing repairs
• Tasks vary by day
• General laborer duties

Requirements and Skills

• Experience in a commercial environment is a plus
• Must be able to work independently without supervision
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical
• Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs
• High School Diploma or equivalent     
• Handyman experience a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician.
