About Doors of Hope: Doors of Hope Inc is certified by the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health (DC DBH) as a Core Service Agency (CSA) to provide outpatient Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) for Children, Youth and Families. We serve children and youth between the ages of 5 to 18 years while providing support to families who struggle with mental illness and substance use conditions. Doors of Hope Inc provides community-based psychiatric services, psychotherapy, and community support services. Services are provided virtually - in the office, home, school, and community.
Our Services are Person-Centered and Include: – Diagnostic Assessment & Treatment Plans – Psychiatric Evaluation – Medication-Somatic Treatment – Counseling and Psychotherapy – Community Support Services Individual, Family and Group Therapy Specialty Areas Include: Depression ADHD Trauma Grief & Loss Anger Management Attachment Community Resources Play Therapy Art Therapy Music Therapy Dance/Movement Therapy Family Therapy Group Therapy Eating Disorders Doors of Hope Child & Family Therapist
POSITION DESCRIPTION Doors of Hope Inc has immediate openings for Child & Family Therapist. As a therapist you will be working with a multidisciplinary, culturally oriented clinical team. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Child and Family Therapist is responsible for providing social emotional/mental health services for children and youth between the ages of 5 to 18. The. A successful candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with the clinical team, be self-motivated, dependable, and flexible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Provide Psychotherapy/Counselling to assigned caseload of clients aged 5‐18 years old and/or their families. – Collaborate with client’s family, school and community stakeholders as needed. – Maintain client records per program confidentiality guidelines and fidelity. – Monitor and track caseload requirements. – Provide referrals to external/internal support. – Ability to observe behavior and appropriately intervene in situations posing a threat to children/youth. – Ability to work independently and participate effectively within interdisciplinary teams. – Ability to exercise professional independent judgment in planning own work, formulating recommendations and making decisions. – Participate in staff consultation/development/training opportunities. – Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: – Master’s degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, counseling, psychology or other related field. – Must be Licensed in Washington, D.C. (Psychologist, LICSW, LPC, LGSW, LCPC, PhD) – Experience in Evidence-Based Practices – Must Adhere to Clinical Documentation Requirements.
EXPERIENCE: – Must be eligible to bill insurance for therapy provided. – Minimum two years of experience providing therapeutic interventions to Children and Youth ages 5 to 18 years. – In‐depth knowledge and experience working in child/youth mental health. – Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills. – Certified in evidence‐based practices or willing to be trained.
Job Type: – Full Time with great potential for growth – Day Shift (Monday-Friday flexible hours between 9am-7pm; and Saturday 9am-2pm as needed) Other – Bilingual practitioners encouraged to apply (English/Spanish)
