Lead Building Instructor 

Construction Crew Leaders are primarily responsible for delivering our educational program. This position is primarily responsible for delivering our educational program to ensure data-driven, results-based instruction for students in the implementation of the CTE program. The CTE Construction program is designed to provide entry/mid-level skills, training, and employment preparation for students interested in the construction trades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Facilitates and instructs CTE Construction on the worksite.
• Recruits prospective students and promotes the CTC program to learning centers.
• Supports and coordinates partnerships with area colleges/universities and trade unions to ensure student access to post-secondary credits.
• Creates relationships with local businesses and contractors for apprenticeship and entry-level employment.
• Researches and develops program curriculum, materials, and schedules.
• Creates lesson plans and activities for expected learning outcomes.
• Evaluates student progress based on State Standards, learning objectives, and projected outcomes.
• Tracks student attendance and grades.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

• Strong construction industry knowledge.
• Knowledge of general learning theories and curriculum development.
• Ability to instruct and delegate responsibilities to students.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, to work efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal guidance and/or supervision.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, while maintaining diplomacy, courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude.
• Ability to change direction as priorities shift and thrive in environments that require the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A valid Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential or ability to obtain with the industry sector: (Construction or appropriate industry work experience to qualify for this CTE credential required).
• At least 3 years of construction industry experience required.
• Prior teaching/mentoring experience preferred.
• Licensed contractor preferred.
• Intern teachers without preliminary credentials must meet all other requirements and be committed to obtaining credentials.
