As a Software Engineer in Test in Voice team, you would join a small, autonomous team of engineers & product owners to build the automation test suite for an in-house tool which supports voice platform used by millions of people every day. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cypress Test Automation Engineer to join our quality assurance team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our in-house tool by designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests using Cypress. You will work closely with our development and Product teams to drive test automation best practices and help deliver high-quality software.
Core responsibilities:
- Work with Product owners, Engineering and other internal teams to identify technical and functional needs of the system and ensure integrated test design and delivery.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end test suites using Cypress to validate web applications.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for regression, functional, and performance testing.
- Identify and report defects, track issues, and work with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing.
- Write clear and concise test documentation, including test plans and test cases.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in test automation and share knowledge within the team.
- Ensure that internal quality processes are followed and help produce artifacts for verification and validation plans, test reports, and other documentation that complies with requirements.
- Tackle problems that arise in production code and find solutions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proven experience in test automation using Cypress.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with modern web development technologies (HTML5, CSS3, React, Angular, etc.).
- Familiarity with API testing and tools like Postman or similar.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, best practices, and test design techniques.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Concourse
Experience with load testing tools is a plus.
Experience working in an Agile environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Skills:
- Testing and Development (1-2 years), Java (2-4 years), SpringBoot, MongoDB, knowledge on AWS, Docker, Jenkins, Linux commands, knowledge on performance testing.
Job Specification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Generally requires 5+ years related experience
