ABRISA TECHNOLOGIES (www.abrisatechnologies.com) designs, manufactures, and distributes precision optical coating solutions and custom fabricated glass optical products via two divisions: Abrisa Industrial Glass, located in Santa Paula, CA and ZC&R Coatings for Optics located in Torrance, CA. Both companies are in the Los Angeles metropolitan area with 125,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space and approximately 150 employees.
We are currently seeking a Coating Tech 1- 3rd Shift to join the team in Torrance, CA. We offer a competitive Hourly wage $20.00 per hour plus a 15% shift differential along with a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc.
Purpose: Responsible for one or more fundamental aspects of the coating process of glass and optical components.
Essential Duties and Functions: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervisor.
MUST have measuring Devices knowledge: Calipers, Ruler, & Micrometers.
Follow customer specifications and requirements as specified on the route sheet.
Consistently measure coatings correctly and in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot and resolve coating problems (shifting, patching, etc.)
Perform all test runs for new coating designs (uniformity, calibration, etc.)
Repair, troubleshoot, and test chamber as required to keep it in good working order.
Perform general maintenance on chambers.
Identify nonconforming products and inform manager.
Follow priorities given by manager.
Follow and understand new designs and procedures for new or different coatings.
Keep documentation current and well organized.
Clean and foil machines as required.
Must be dependable, dependable, punctual, and available for overtime requirements.
Other non-essential job functions:
Take initiative and unload parts from various chambers and place into Q.C.
Keep work areas clean at all times. Around the machines, in the tunnel, and the measuring equipment.
Set a good example for the trainees and ensure that all procedures are followed -- no shortcuts.
Help organize all departments to work efficiently to get the work processed out and to the customer.
You are responsible for the care of the tooling and machines that are used for operations.
Keep the spare parts bins organized and clean.
Be willing to help in any other area.
It is your responsibility to inform management or your trainer of tasks you may not be sufficiently trained to do.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to coat various types of coatings and is proficiently in different chambers.
Ability to measure for various coatings correctly.
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including route sheets.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to work in a clean room environment
Ability to work independently or on a team
Minimum Qualifications (including Education):
High school diploma or equivalent
Prefer 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area

Work Environment and other Conditions:
PPE requirements: Wear protective eyewear, use rubber gloves when necessary, and follow common sense safety habits. Other PPE may be required depending on area and specific function needs.
