Cain's Mechanical LLC is a small family owned and operated equipment repair and construction company looking for full time Equipment Mechanics to join our expanding company in Agawam, Massachusetts. We are looking for an on the road Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic. At Cain's Mechanical, we don't see problems, we only see an opportunity for a solution.
As one of our mechanics you will enjoy independence. You will be able to test your skills daily as you diagnose and repair various types of equipment and heavy trucks. You will also be expected to perform planned maintenance on a variety of equipment as well as suggest preventive maintenance on equipment you have serviced. In addition to equipment repair, we also service some facility components. This is including but not limited to material handling items, truss manufacturing implements, industrial grinders, facility pumps and motors, and much more.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to make field service visits to customer facilities. Repairs will be made on site or coordinated with the shop when field repairs are not advisable.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Willingness to travel on a day to day basis, no overnights
- Must posses own basic tools
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines varying from small and large construction equipment to on and off highway trucks
- Diagnose mechanical issues pertaining to engines, transmissions, drivelines, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Repair or replace faulty components
- Perform inspections and identify current and potential issues in varying types of equipment
- Replace faulty hydraulic lines
- Welding and Fabrication
- Track work completed with electronic service order software
Skills:
- Critical thinking
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Knowledge of the operation of diesel and gas engines
- Knowledge of the operation of transmissions and drivelines
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of motion systems such as conveyors and chain driven components
- Able to work independently while making responsible decisions
- Ability to apply current understanding of systems to determine the function of others
- A mechanical aptitude in diagnosing faults or malfunctions.
- Ability to read and understand service and parts manuals from several different vehicles and manufacturers.
- Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Maintain Massachusetts Hoisting License preferred
- Ability to pass a DOT drug test at any time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime potential

Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
