Job Description

The Jr. Bill Store Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Jr. Bill Store. Staffed largely by volunteers, the Manager recruits, trains, and schedules volunteers to ensure that regular store hours and special events are fully staffed. The Manager is a member of the store's management team, which includes volunteer advisors and collaborators. The Manager liaises with the SLUH Business office, produces reports, conducts inventory, purchases product, and ensures that the business of the retail operation is attended to directly or in cooperation with competent volunteer partners.

The Manager reports to the Vice President of Advancement and is a team member of the Advisory Management Group that sets strategy and policy for the Jr. Bill Store. The position involves approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility during the summer months, and predictable increases during special events, particularly in the fall.

Duties/Responsibilities

Shop Management: staffing, register/cash management, supplies
Volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and management
Management and support of work grant and internship students
Inventory receipting/ pricing/markdowns / reorders
Month end sales reporting
Visual Merchandising
Online & Phone Order Fulfillment/Shipping and process oversight
Assist Merchant in Product Strategy & Vendor Management

Product and aesthetic sensibility
Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of partners on site and across time zones
Staffing events and engaging directly with customers at a variety of times and locations. Occasional evenings and weekends.
